Reopening despite the road closures
Wayne and Sue Tapping from Wildwood Garden have decided to open for autumn even though access is limited due to local flooding and a landslip that's blocked Bells Line of Road at Mount Tomah.
"We are here for our local visitors with the cafe, gift shop and nursery all open as usual from today," said Wayne Tapping. "We're not expected to be rushed off our feet but we hope to see those who can travel locally."
Bells Line of Road, which provides access to Bilpin where the garden is situated is closed due to flooding at the North Richmond Bridge over the Hawkesbury River. Access is also difficult at Mt Tomah.
Wildwood Garden itself has suffered some wash outs due to the heavy rain and the waterfalls and streams are still gushing with water but it offers its usualy tranquil beauty for visitors who venture in.
Opening hours are 10am-4pm every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday until June 14 (including Easter, Mother's Day and the June long weekend).
