Sue Tapping is planning a sumptuous display of camellia blooms at Wildwood Garden for the annual Camellia Show which is on in mid-August. Mark the weekends of August 16-17 and 23-24 in your diary and plan a visit to the garden.

Come and enjoy the displays of cut flowers and then wander in the garden to see the plants in flower. There are also lots of potted shrubs for sale. With more than 600 varieties, there's a lot to enjoy.

There. are also displays of new varieties raised in the garden. All are Hybrid Reticulatas. 'Wildwood Nikki' (photo 2) is fast-growing with a luminous deep pink and white veined flower. 'Wildwood Cayley' (photo 3) has masses of large, deep pink flowers and is quick growing. With an even darker deep pink flower, 'Wildwood Carissa' is also beautiful (photo 1, top). There are also some other yet-to-be released new varieties too.

The new varieties are not yet available to buy but there are many other beautiful camellias for sale in the Wildwood Nursery.

Wildwood Garden is at 29 Powells Road, Bilpin and is open Friday to Monday from 10am to 4pm
