Local Attractions

The garden is in the heart of the orchard area of Bilpin. Just 90 minutes from Sydney, Bilpin offers a wealth of attractions including the Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens, Mount Tomah, other open gardens along with apple and stonefruit orchards. There are roadside stalls selling local seasonal fruit and some pick-your-own farms as well. The cherries in particular are ripening well and should be available right through into early summer.

Cut flowers too are blooming in the district. It has been a good season for roses and you can buy bunches from specialist growers on Bells Line of Road. Expect to find fragrant roses in many colours along with some old fashioned varieties that are hard to find at the florist.

There are also many bushwalks to enjoy. Bilpin is also on the way to Mount Wilson, a Mecca for gardeners. For links to local accommodation see our list on Links. We also have a list of attractions in the Bilpin and Mount Tomah area on our Links page.
